Citronella essential oil is derived from the aromatic herb Cymbopogon nardus, which has been used for centuries in China and Indonesia. The botanical name is of French origin and means "melissa". Although the plants smell completely different, they share some similarities in their calming properties. It's also often (and wrongly) confused with lemongrass, but it has unique benefits that are definitely worth getting to know.

Citronella oil - properties
