The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the oleoresin of the tropical Canarium luzonicum tree. The raw material is found inside the bark and is produced as long as the tree is healthy and has leaves. Elemi comes from the Burseraceae family, the same family that frankincense and myrrh oils belong to, and they share many properties and benefits, as their long history of use in cosmetic and medicinal products undoubtedly demonstrates.

Elemi oil - properties

Elemi essential oil is a product rich in monoterpenes, which mainly determine its properties. It supports the body during infections, especially of the upper respiratory tract, and relieves persistent cough and cold symptoms. It has an antiseptic effect, cleans small wounds and accelerates the regeneration of damaged skin. Soothes inflammation, soothes tired muscles and joints, reduces painful symptoms and swelling.
