Camphor essential oil is extracted from a tree called the camphor cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum camphora). In order to ensure the highest quality of the extract, the plants are carefully selected - they must be healthy and mature, 50 years is considered the minimum. The species itself is long-lived, trees live up to 1000 years. Camphor is native to Asia, but is used worldwide as an ingredient in incense, medicine, and aromatherapy.

Camphor oil - properties

Camphor essential oil is often an ingredient in medicines used to treat skin conditions, especially those of bacterial and fungal origin. The product reduces itching and irritation. The extract has anti-inflammatory activity, and when applied topically, it cools the nerve endings and then intensively warms them, increasing blood circulation. It is necessary for muscle and joint problems (relieves pain and stiffness, increases range of motion).

Used by inhalation, it relieves the congestion of the airways that often occurs during infections. It calms the cough and thins the secretion. It is easily absorbed through the skin and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for a youthful appearance. It also has a positive effect on oily and problematic skin - it cleans, prevents the accumulation of bacteria and smoothes sebum secretion.

It is famous for its intense aroma, which is difficult to specify. The scent can be compared to menthol or eucalyptus with cool, woody notes.
