Vegetable collagen - what is it?

Collagen is a unique protein that forms the basis of our body's connective tissue.

Collagen is an essential building block in our tendons, muscles, tissues and ligaments. It is the protein responsible for the strength and structure of our hair, skin, nails and joints. The collagen on the market is mostly of animal origin, but there is also so-called vegetable collagen.

Collagen production naturally declines with age and is also slowed down by daily pollution and free radical exposure, so supplementing our diet with collagen has been found to significantly improve the condition and appearance of hair, skin, nails and joints, as well as prevent future collagen loss. Vegetable collagen is also called hydrolyzed wheat proteins (wheat protein oligopeptides), which have similar properties to collagen and are the most suitable alternative to collagen of animal origin. Wheat germ extract (hydrolyzate) is extracted from natural wheat proteins. This process is based on separate cleaning and spray drying.

The production of plant collagen is an expensive, high-tech process, so this product is not yet widely available on the market. The advantage of vegetable collagen is its significantly lower molecular weight, which gives it better penetration power. Therefore, the necessary amino acids, vitamins and plant extracts go directly to the dermis, tendons and cartilage, which stimulates the synthesis of own collagen and elastin. Old collagen fibers break down with age, and thanks to plant collagen, new ones are produced in their place.

The collagen formula is enhanced by Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid, which also have collagen-preserving properties as they contain cell-strengthening polyphenols, adaptogens and flavonoids. Thanks to their protein composition, these components stimulate the regeneration of muscles, cartilage, skin, hair and nails, just like supplements of animal origin. These substances also include plant sources of biotin, glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. In addition to all of the above, they have a positive effect on the digestive process.
