Jarrow Formulas® Resveratrol contains 100 mg of resveratrol (3, 4', 5-trihydroxystilbene) and resveratrol glucosides (piceids) extracted from the root of Hu zhang ("tiger sugarcane"), also known as Polygonum cuspidatum. Polygonum extracts have been used as cardiotonics in traditional Eastern medicine. Jarrow Formulas® Resveratrol is approximately 90% resveratrol in the trans configuration. As an antioxidant, resveratrol supports cardiovascular function by inhibiting LDL oxidation, regulating nitric oxide synthesis, and promoting capillary integrity. Resveratrol has also been studied for its ability to activate phase 2 detoxification enzymes to support healthy cell replication.
