Cucumber oil is a nutritional oil that contains 60% polyunsaturated fat and about twice as much gamma linolenic acid (GLA) as evening primrose oil. GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body can make from dietary linoleic acid; however, it can be used more efficiently for bodily functions when supplied directly from food sources. Studies have shown that borage oil does not contain harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). NOW® borage oil is pressed and hexane-free.
