Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is grown high in the Andes region of Central Peru. It has been traditionally used for centuries as a food source and as a general energy tonic. Modern research shows that maca can help support a healthy reproductive life in both men and women. Clinical evidence suggests that Maca does not directly affect endocrine function.
Gelatinization is a completely vegetarian process that removes the starch from maca to produce a more concentrated product. Gelatinization does not mean "gelatin" and no animal-derived ingredients are involved in the process.
